Toby is a seasoned business and transaction advisor with extensive experience developing, analyzing and challenging business plans and the underlying business and industry assumptions. He has a track record of identifying and executing growth opportunities and assisting clients to create value through M&A transactions. He has a unique breadth of perspective through having worked successfully in consulting, investment banking, and private equity.

Prior to Unicorn Consulting, Toby was a partner in the Transaction Services division at KPMG, where he led a specialized consulting group which provides strategy and M&A advisory services to corporate and private equity clients. He managed growth strategy and commercial due diligence projects, including selection and validation of new industry segments or geographic markets, acquisition target identification, evaluation of business plans and forecasts and analysis of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and customer behavior.

Earlier in his career, Toby was a project manager at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he helped clients identify and evaluate investments and acquisitions, develop growth strategies and reorganize operations in the face of changing market conditions. He also led M&A and private placement transactions as an investment banker at Broadview International and Morgan Stanley, and he managed all aspects of deal execution at a New York-based leveraged buy-out firm focused on mid-market transactions.

Toby is on the Board of the New York Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He has a B.A in sciences and philosophy from Trinity College, Cambridge University in England, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
